District Conference is the annual celebration of the club achievements within the district.
Okay… But what is it? Who should attend?
This is the annual celebration of Rotary accomplishments which includes Rotary educational opportunities, Rotary speakers who motivate and inspire us, and an opportunity for great fellowship.
This is open to all Rotarians and is a multi-day event. This is no registration fee (as this is covered by your Rotary district dues) but attendees must choose from various meal options in order to hear some of the speakers. In addition there is the lodging expense.
District 5110 normally has special speakers at the conference beyond what we would have available at an Assembly with more speakers on more topics.
The President, President Elect and President-Nominee from each club should definitely attend the entire event as well as key board members and committee chairs .
In 2009, District Assembly & District Conference was tied into one large event and a great deal of Rotary education and information was available by attending any or all of the Conference and Assembly sessions.
Each year District 5110 endeavors to provide as much Rotary as possible within a couple of nights out of town . . . a mini convention with numerous opportunities to gain knowledge, become better informed, and more excited about what you can accomplish as a Rotarian.
When is it?
District Conference is held in the latter part of May each year. For more details about upcoming conferences, check out the rotarydistrict5110.com website.
