The Rotary Club of Gold Beach's Scholarship Committee works closely with the local high school in soliciting applications for scholarships and evaluating the applicants. Scholarships are awarded annually near the end of the school year.
The minimum scholarship amount is $500, maximum $1000. The scholarships are earned by students who meet the following criteria:
- Students are eligible in the year that they graduate
- Must have a 3.0 GPA or above
- Submit a Resume
- Type (12 font) a 500-word essay describing how you will contribute professionally and personally to your community in the future
- Be available for an interview
Any amounts allocated by the Board of Directors for scholarships are allocated into four categories:
- Exchange Students
- Vocational
- Rotary Leadership
- Scholarship
- Criteria reviewed by the Scholarship Committee include the following:
Grades earned by the student
Class courses selected by the student
Scores on standardized tests
Participation in school leadership organizations, school clubs, and athletics
Participation in community activities and organizations
Student resume
Student essay
Oral interview |
