Minutes, Board Meeting 13 May 2009
The meeting was called to order at the Showcase Building, Event Center on the Beach at 1310. In attendance: Stansell, Spicer, Peterson, Eide, Davis, Allen and Hughes.
- Treasurer report reviewed and approved as submitted.
- Discussed was held about a request from Marlyn Schafer (Rotary Chair for High on Health Fundraiser) to donate the funds raised from the Rotary portion of the High on Health annual dinner to the Senior Center. After reviewing the budget (a total of $5500 was budgeted, only $3500 was raised) the board, by consensus, decided to deny the request but would like to invite the Senior Center to make a presentation of their financial need to the Rotary Club for future consideration. It is unclear to the board what the needs of the Senior Center are.
- Stansell reported six scholarships were given to highly worthy students. Three $1,000 and three $750 dollar scholarships were awarded. A motion was made by Peterson and seconded by Davis to move $500 from the Four Way Speech budget line item to the "Scholarship" budget line item. Motion carried unanimously.
- Meeting adjourned at 1330.
