CLUB UPDATE: Please join your fellow Rotarians for the annual District Conference this May 20-23, 2010 in Eugene, OR as we see, hear and are inspired by the many ways Rotarians have and still are working in their communities and around the world. We will celebrate these accomplishments in an atmosphere of fellowship and goodwill. Again this year, the District Conference is being combined with the District Training Assembly on May 22 giving more Rotarians than ever the opportunity to be inspired as well as prepared for Rotaryʼs future.

FOUNDATION UPDATE: April is the last month that our club will match Paul Harris donations. Remember "Every Rotarian, Every Year".

POTENTIAL FUNDRAISER: The Rotary Club of Medford has patented a rose and named it the "Goodbye Polio Rose®." Their Club is pleased to offer fellow Rotary Clubs an opportunity to sell this Rose as part of their own "Polio Eradication Program" fundraiser. Selling is easy! Fifty Medford Rotary Club members sold over 360 bushes locally in 2009, their first year of the fundraiser! The Rotary Club of Medford will provide us with all the tools:
• Information on how to conduct the fundraiser.
• Potted Goodbye Polio Rose bushes.
• Each bush labeled with a colorful descriptive tag.
• A tri-fold brochure template describing the Polio Eradication Program, rose bush photo, description and care, and personal ordering form.
• A poster template for advertising the rose sales.
• A form to keep track of orders and delivery dates.
• Planting and growing instructions.

Our cost is $5 per potted rose bush (plus shipping) with the minimum 50 ordered. Suggested resell price is $20 per plant. Limited quantities are available so place your order soon. Anyone interested in heading up this Fundraiser please talk to President John or PE Peter. This is a Ready MadePolio Eradication Program Fundraiser Selling the "Goodbye Polio Rose®."

**********************
An elderly couple was killed in an accident and found themselves being given a tour of heaven by Saint Peter. "Here is your oceanside condo, over there are the tennis courts, swimming pool, and two golf courses. If you need any refreshments, just stop by any of the many bars located throughout the area." "Heck, Gloria," the old man hissed when Saint Peter walked off, "we could have been here ten years ago if you hadn't heard about all that stupid oat bran, wheat germ, and low-fat diets!

FOUNDATION UPDATE: April is the last month that our club will match Paul Harris donations. We're still striving to reach our goal. Remember "Every Rotarian, Every Year".

CLUB UPDATE: Why is April Magazine Month? Well according to our Rotary International President John Kenney it is a good time to consider how this important member benefit The Rotarian, can help your club's service efforts. It is also important to share the useful information in its pages with others.  Recycle your magazine at your Dentist or Doctor's Office. Share Rotary!

HIGH ON HEALTH! Itʼs a good thing you have already purchased your tickets to this fun-filled evening. Tickets are sold out! Thanks to Amy, Lisa, and Dale for helping organize the auction items. And thanks to all our members who have contributed to this worthwhile event. Once you tell someone where the money is going they are more than willing to donate so share that information
with your guests. Let them know that all bids on the Silent and Live Auctions will be matched with a grant from Oregon Community Foundation to fund a dental health and treatment program for children in grades K-3. SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!!! We still need volunteers to help with set-up on Friday afternoon as well as some help the evening of High on Health. We will be passing out at sign up sheet at lunch on Wednesday.

HUMOR: Generosity
At an Rotary meeting in Manchester, a visiting Rotarian, who happened to be a wealthy American, announced that he had lost his wallet containing £10,000 and would give a reward of £100 to the person who finds it.  From the back of the hall a Scottish voice shouted, "I'll give £150!"
